Sounds
Rabbits will make certain sounds.
If
they are growling, like a dog, that means watch out - they are not
happy and might bite you or someone else. Baby growls and then usually
bites shortly thereafter. Just like a dog would.
Grinding teeth -
is a popular past time. They normally grind their teeth when happy or
when they feel good - while you are scratching or petting them perhaps.
I've heard them make soft, quiet eeks too. They seem to be happy when doing it but it's so quiet you can hardly hear it.
Grunting
- well when Baby is all wound up and might bite, she will grunt which
sounds similar to a growl but shorter bursts of grunts.
A
scream - a high pitched shrill scream means the rabbit is hurt or dying. Go to the rabbit immediately. I hope you never hear your rabbit scream -it's not good.
Sometimes I hear them sorta purr - really silent, real subtle when relaxed. I don't hear this often.
Most
times the buns will make the most noise when being pet or scratched or
their ears gently rubbed. So get down on the floor, adorn your bun with
some quality affection and take a listen. You'll be surprised at the noises you've been missing.
Thumping - when a rabbit stomps their hind legs on the ground with alot of force, it makes a thumping sound. This normally means your bunny senses danger and is warning other bunnies. With my buns it means "Danger Will Robinson, Danger" (for those of you that remember the tv show Lost in Space).
You might hear your bun make other noises, so take a listen.
